Microscope Tagger
When confronted by the challenge to create a visualization about images from a cheap microscope I was a little at a loss. I mean, the mircoscope creates an image… the most visual thing ever… how are you supposed to ‘visualize’ that? At first I was thinking of analyzing the pixel data and whatnot, but all that did was abstract the visual data, probably for the worse.
After considering what zoomed-in images are actually used for (see further, more detail, and communication) I decided to make a tool to enhance the usefulness of mircoscopes, and thus: MicroscopeTagger.
The app I built loads an image of your choosing and allows you to overlay textual descriptions. All you do is click on the spot you want to tag, a leader comes up, and you can type your comment, hit enter/return and move on to the next.
Next week I want to make the app more ‘mircoscope-y’… what functions does a mircoscope tagger need that would separate it from ‘just an image tagger’.
